The Narendra Modi Stadium is the largest cricket stadium in the world. Which represents both India’s deep-seated love for cricket and the country’s superior architectural design. It is located in Ahmedabad, India, along the picturesque Sabarmati River. This enormous stadium is named in honor of India’s current Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. This has made history by hosting significant events and unforgettable games that have captivated cricket fans all over the world. In October 2015, the Gujarat Cricket Association decided to reconstruct the stadium, and Completed in Feb 2020. It became the largest Cricket Stadium in the world.

History

In 1982, the Government of Gujarat donated a 400,000-square-metre (100-acre) stretch of land on the banks of the Sabarmati River to build a new stadium. Which was named in tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. Sardar Patel Stadium took nine months to complete. Since then, domestic and International cricket fixtures including ODI, Test, and T20I for the city have been hosted.

ICC on 27 June 2023 released the schedule of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 which is to be played in October-November this year. Which was earlier to be played in February-March 2023. The tournament had to be rescheduled due to the disruption of the qualification schedule of the Cricket World Cup due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is to be organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). This will be the 13th edition of the Cricket World Cup. The tournament, hosted by India, will begin on October 5 and end on November 19, 2023. This year, the tournament will contested by men’s national cricket teams of the 10 nations.

On July 12, a two-match Test series between India and the West Indies gets underway. On the month-long visit, Rohit Sharma and company will play two tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is.

The final two T20 matches, out of the five, will take place in Florida, USA. In ODIs and Tests, Rohit Sharma will serve as captain; the T20 team has not yet been revealed.

India vs. West Indies Tour 2023:

In July, Team India will travel to the West Indies for a full-fledged all-format tour. Team India will play two Test matches, three One-Day International (ODI), and a five-match T20 International series beginning on July 12, according to the BCCI’s official schedule. The ongoing England vs. Australia five-match Ashes 2023 Test series marked the beginning of the World Test Championship Cycle (2023–25), which will conclude with the two-match India vs. WI Test series.

The last time India toured the West Indies was in 2022, when the Men in Blue won the five-match T20I series 4-1 and the ODI series 3-0 against the hosts. Notably, the two-match Test series between West Indies and India in July 2023 marks the return to the Caribbean of a Test match between two teams after 2019.

When will India’s West Indies tour start?

On July 12, the first Test match between India and the West Indies will take place at Dominica’s Windsor Park. Both teams have not yet revealed their lineups.

How many matches are being played between West Indies and India?

Both teams will compete against one another in two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is during India’s tour of the West Indies.
